Fall Festival at Hippie Jack's

scrapomatic steeldrivers

We hope you're planning to be at the farm September 24, 25, 26, 2010 for our Fall Festival. That time of year, up here on the Plateau, there might just be a chill in the air. You’ll think of Keats’ “Ode to Autumn” and Frost’s poem about a road not many people travel, or at least you’ll remember a good old English teacher that told you about all that back in the day.

Tent and RV campers with a 3-day camping pass can start to roll in on Thursday, September 23rd after 3:00pm. On Thursday evening, be sure to take part in the campers' potluck dinner party* from 6:00-7:00pm followed by a TV recording at 7:00pm of Doug & Telisha Williams.

*Please note that you must have a 3-day camping pass to attend Thursday's potluck dinner. Bring your choice of a covered dish and remember to bring your own plate, fork, drink and something to sit on!

The Festival will start Friday with music beginning around 1:00pm and will continue through Sunday evening. You can purchase tickets in advance at a discount 3-day Camping Pass, a 2-day Camping Pass (Gate only) or Single Day tickets for the Fall Festival. The Stephens Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse will hold a Silent Auction during the entire Festival, with 100% of the proceeds to benefit the Center.

Now that we’ve got your attention with images of bands and poets and beautiful fall landscapes, it’s probably a good time to sneak in a little do-gooderism. We’re combining the annual Music in the Holler Benefit in with this festival. Practically speaking, that means that we’re giving The Stephens Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse in Overton County a bunch of free tickets that they will use to raise money. The Stephens Center will also hold a silent auction--"Bid For Kids"--on site.

We're happy to do everything we can to raise awareness for this great organization. If you would like to donate items for the silent auction, please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Dawn or call 931-823-6432.

Why The Stephens Center?
Whatever your political persuasion or lifestyle choices, we can all agree that no child should be mistreated. Unfortunately, it happens. In big cities and out in the country, from coast to coast. In everyone’s neighborhood. Don’t avert your eyes. Help. If all you do is come out to the farm to hear some good music for a good cause, that’s plenty.

Festival Rules
We try not to have too many rules.  We are a bunch of hippies, after all. But we do have some rules that are designed to weed out uncool folks and minimize the chances of anyone getting hurt. And we highly recommend that you read through our answers to Frequently Asked Questions. For example, you’ll discover that cell phones don’t work out here, that you have to be chaperoned by an adult if you're under 18, and that, sadly, dogs must be left at home.

Festival Food
You don't have to pack in or cook all your food during the festival. We're lining up some excellent food vendors all weekend.
